Conference Purpose and Topics:
The purpose of the conference is to discuss mathematics related to the more than half century of John Rhodes's work, particularly in areas related to John's recent interests.
Topics include advances in finite semigroups and its applications, including representations of various types of semigroups, random walks on semigroups, and semigroups appearing in combinatorics, computer science, geometry and topology. Also matroids and Boolean Representable Simplicial Complexes.
Conference Format:
There will be both formal lectures and lots of time for discussion and problem sessions. Formal lectures are by invitation only. Other participants are strongly encouraged to contribute to the problem and discussion sessions. The organizers will provide letters of participation to anyone who wishes to be at the conference.
