EAGER
European Algebraic Geometry Education and Research
Node of Bar-Ilan University, Israel
Coordinator: Mina Teicher
EAGER is a European network of Algebraic Geometers funded by the European
Commission Science Division. The network includes most of the European
researchers active in the field. EAGER stimulates mobility of young researchers
inside the European Community. The network is divided to 12 research nodes
(Bar Ilan is one of them) and an additional node which organizes the annual
conferences and the schools for young people. The Bar-Ilan node also includes
researchers from The Hebrew University, Ben Gurion University and Tel-Aviv
University.
Expertise of the Bar-Ilan Node:
-
Algebraic curves, equisingular families, application to artificial intelligence.
-
Algebraic surfaces.
-
Group theoretic methods in the study of topology of algebraic varieties,
computational methods.
-
Abelian varieties.
-
Higher dimensional varieties. Deformation theories and degeneration techniques.
-
Application to symplectic geometry.
Current and Planned Activities related to other Nodes:
-
Joint reseach with various teams active in the network EAGER.
-
Training of joung researchers while visiting other nodes (e.g. Roma, Bayreuth,
Hanover, Nice, Warwick) and vice versa.
-
Postdoctoral program
in collaboration with the Emmy Noether Institute.
-
Conferences and Workshops, past events
and future events .
